SUCCESS STORIES
★ ★ ★ ★ ★A first-time mother with a scheduled induction went in to spontaneous labor, but labor slowed after 6 centimeters. The midwife confirmed the baby was in a less than optimal position and was beginning to show signs of distress. I helped reposition the mother to encourage the baby to shift in the womb and descend. The baby was born after an hour of pushing without surgical intervention.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★An experienced mother in her 4th labor had her labor rhythm plateau at 4 centimeters despite hours of strong contractions. With my knowledge of labor positions, I encouraged her to do some movements for at least 10 contractions. The baby descended into the pelvis, and she gave birth within 20 minutes!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★A mother started to labor on her due date and progressed to 9 centimeters unmedicated. After an hour and a half, her cervix was fully dilated, but the baby had not descended. Suspecting the baby was in occiput posterior position. I assisted the mother to hands and knees positions, resting positions with the peanut ball, squatting, and upright positions to help the baby rotate. In less than an hour after completing this circuit, the family welcomed their baby boy!
